Our mission is simple: To provide an affordable option to youth wishing to enjoy the great sport of hockey. We believe that regardless of economic status, every child should be given the chance to play.  

There are several ways we work to accomplish this mission. While other hockey associations charge hundreds or even thousands of dollars to participate, we keep our registration fees low to allow more kids to join in. We provide scholarships to assist families that have difficulty paying this registration fee.

We also outfit our players with equipment if needed. Some families in our community cannot afford the expense of purchasing skates, a helmet, breezers, shoulder pads, shin guards, elbow pads, and gloves. We refurbish and distribute used hockey gear and have received some generous grants for new equipment, but there is always an ongoing need for sourcing good-condition hockey gear.

Everyone who represents our organization is a volunteer. From coaches and team mangers to parents running the game clock and scoreboard, there is no compensation of any kind. We hold a few fundraisers a year – such as selling pizzas and holiday greenery, as well as hosting a spaghetti dinner auction – to supplement our budget while building connections with our community.   

As you probably know, hockey is an expensive sport. Depending on the rink, we pay around $200 per hour of ice time. We plan outdoor practices when we can, but hockey season starts two months before outdoor ice is available.
